Description

The USDA Rural Utilities Service is accepting applications for FY 2027 Solid Waste Management grants to qualified organizations providing technical assistance and training to rural communities. The work is intended to improve the planning and management of rural solid waste sites and reduce or eliminate pollution of water resources. Eligible activities include waste reduction, recycling and reuse assistance; landfill operator training; support for landfill closure and future-use planning; and assessments of threats to water resources. Applications are due December 31, 2026, and approximately $4,000,000 in program funding is anticipated.
