The City of Norfolk is seeking a contractor to rehabilitate the Virginia Beach Boulevard bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railroad. - Government buyer: City of Norfolk, Department of Public Works (Public Works (D&C)), Norfolk, Virginia. - Project: Rehabilitation of Virginia Beach Boulevard Bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad, Structure No. 122-1806; project 23192 RB. - OEMs and vendors: No product OEMs or prospective construction vendors are named. The bid schedule states LF, while the plan quantity table states SY. - Type B, Class I pavement markings, 4 inches wide: yellow 1,040 LF and white 1,554 LF. - Additive Bid Alternate No. 1: Deduct 230 LF of 2-inch, 230 LF of 2½-inch, and 115 LF of 3¼-inch silicone sealant; 390 LF of expansion-joint preparation; and 2 SY of Type B Class A4 SCC patching. Description

The City of Norfolk is soliciting bids for rehabilitation of the Virginia Beach Boulevard bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railroad. Work includes repairing structural elements, the concrete deck, and railing pedestal, as well as protecting concrete elements to extend the bridge’s useful life. The bid schedule includes deck overlay, bearing cleaning and painting, concrete and crack repairs, joint sealant and expansion-joint work, pavement markings, and related work; Additive Bid Alternate No. 1 covers alternate joint-sealing and reconstruction work. Bids are submitted electronically, and the City intends to base its award on the Base Bid, selecting the lowest responsive and responsible Total Bid.
