Mercy High School is seeking E-rate-funded network switching and wireless upgrades for its Farmington Hills, Michigan campus. - Buyer: Mercy High School, Farmington Hills, Michigan; no government agency or sub-agency is identified. - Preferred OEM: HPE/Aruba. Named Aruba products and platforms include the 5412R zl2 core chassis, J9900A, J9986A, and J9993A modules, 2930M edge switches, 7210 Mobility Controllers, Mobility Conductor, ClearPass, AirWave, and AP-515 access points. Cisco Meraki and equivalent enterprise-grade solutions may also be proposed. - Switching: Expand four IDFs to at least 480 active access ports: North 168, West 120, South 120, and East 72. Provide PoE+ at minimum, 802.3bt on selected ports preferred, and 10 Gbps fiber uplinks per IDF. The Form 470 separately lists 20 switches and required software/licenses; the RFP's 480-port figure is a port capacity target, not a stated switch-unit count. - Wireless: Refresh or replace 99 existing AP-515 access points and design additional auditorium coverage for 650 concurrent devices in a 1,300-seat venue. Auditorium AP quantity is not specified. The Form 470 separately lists 150 access points and required software/licenses. - Controllers and components: The Form 470 lists 2 wireless controllers with software/licenses, 1 foot-unit entry of cabling, and 1 antenna/connectors/related-components item. Aruba maintenance is also listed for 20 switches, 150 access points, and 2 controllers. - Services: RF surveys and capacity modeling; configuration audit, migration, and integration; staging, installation, cabling cleanup, and cutover; legacy equipment removal and compliant disposal; testing; as-built diagrams, port mapping, RF heatmaps, configuration backups, and staff knowledge transfer. Warranty and ongoing support/SLA options are requested. - Notable requirements: The project is contingent on Universal Service Funding. Respondents are asked for purchase and preferred 60-month lease pricing, with even lease payments and a one-dollar buyout option; warranty and support pricing is also requested. Auditorium equipment should be mounted discreetly without harming the venue's architecture.
