30-day rental of a mobile concrete crushing and screening system for Brookhaven National Laboratory

Brookhaven National Laboratory is seeking a complete mobile crushing and screening system to produce recycled concrete aggregate at its Borrow Pit. - Government buyer: U.S. Department of Energy, Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), managed by Brookhaven Science Associates. - OEMs and vendors: No equipment manufacturer, OEM, or rental vendor is specified. Brookhaven Science Associates is identified as BNL’s managing organization. - Equipment requested: - One track-mounted primary jaw crushing plant with a feed opening of at least 44 x 28 inches, a minimum 15.5-cubic-yard hopper, vibrating grizzly feeder, adjustable jaw and deflector plate, stockpiling/transfer conveyor, and ferrous-metal removal. - One track-mounted secondary impact crushing and screening plant with an integrated screen of at least 8 x 4 feet, a rotor of at least 34 x 33 inches, adjustable aprons, finished-product and oversize conveyors with recirculation capability, overload/jam protection, and ferrous-metal removal. - One dust-suppression system for crusher feed and discharge, connectable to BNL’s pressurized water supply, plus required track mobility, guards, emergency stops, and manufacturer safety equipment. - Performance and operating requirements: The system must be suitable for recycled concrete containing reinforcing steel and rated to produce approximately 200 tons per hour or more under typical conditions. Equipment must be demonstrated and maintained in safe operating condition. - Rental and services: A 30-consecutive-day rental includes delivery, mobilization, setup, commissioning, demonstration, operator training, telephone technical support, on-site repair support when needed, and equipment removal. Manuals are required before delivery; removal is due at the end of the rental unless BNL authorizes an extension. - Potential competing manufacturers: Metso Corporation, Sandvik AB, Wirtgen Group, Terex Corporation, and McCloskey International Limited offer comparable mobile crushing and screening equipment.

Description

Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC (BSA), operator of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), is soliciting quotations for the rental of a mobile, two-stage concrete crushing and screening system at the BNL Borrow Pit in Upton, New York.

The requirement includes a track-mounted primary jaw crushing plant and secondary impact crushing/screening plant for a thirty (30) consecutive calendar-day rental period. The rental shall include delivery, setup, commissioning, operator familiarization and training, technical and repair support, and removal of all Contractor-furnished equipment at the end of the rental period.

Offerors shall provide:

A firm-fixed-price quotation for the complete requirement, including delivery, mobilization, demobilization, setup, training, support, and removal. Equipment make/model and technical literature demonstrating compliance with the Statement of Work. Any exceptions, exclusions, operating limitations, optional equipment, or BNL site requirements. Proposed equipment availability and delivery schedule. Vendor UEI and point-of-contact information.

Award will be made to the responsible offeror whose quotation is technically acceptable and offers the lowest evaluated total price. Quotations are due October 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
