Shawnee County Solid Waste is seeking two complete heavy-duty refuse trucks with 25-yard high-compaction rear-loader bodies. - Government buyer: Shawnee County, Kansas — Solid Waste Department / Shawnee County Solid Waste; delivery destination is the County Solid Waste Maintenance Shop in Topeka. - Requested equipment: Two new, unused heavy-duty refuse truck chassis and two matching 25-cubic-yard high-compaction rear-loader bodies, fully assembled and ready for use. - Truck requirements: At least a 10-liter diesel engine rated 380–400 horsepower, Allison 3000RDS six-speed transmission, minimum 62,000-pound gross combination weight, and specified chassis, axle, suspension, tire, electrical, fuel, air, and emissions systems. The complete units must meet the specified refuse-body safety and durability requirements. - Named OEMs and brands: Cummins (engine-related specifications and air compressor), Allison Transmission (transmission), Horton (fan clutch), Hendrickson (rear suspension), Optima (batteries), Continental (rear tires), Steel Armor (wheel finish/brand), and Bayne (cart tippers). No complete truck or refuse-body manufacturer is specified; approved equivalents are allowed where the specifications permit them. - Warranty and support: The truck requires five-year/200,000-mile coverage, including specified bumper-to-bumper, engine, and transmission coverage.
