Description

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission announces the availability of an Environmental Assessment for Ohio Power and Light, LLC’s application for an original license to construct, operate, and maintain the Robert C. Byrd Locks and Dam Hydroelectric Project (Project No. 15094). The proposed 28.5-megawatt project would be located at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Robert C. Byrd Locks and Dam facility on the Ohio River in Mason County, West Virginia, and would affect 18.3 acres of federal land. Commission staff concluded that licensing the project with appropriate environmental protective measures would not significantly affect the quality of the human environment. Comments are due by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on October 28, 2026.
