The U.S. Air Force is researching qualified providers to clean and maintain the 42nd Security Forces Squadron’s 84-point firing range at Maxwell Air Force Base. - Buyer: Department of the Air Force, Air Education and Training Command; 42d Contracting Squadron, Maxwell AFB, Alabama. The work supports the 42nd Security Forces Squadron. - Opportunity status: Sources-sought market research; no solicitation or award is currently planned. - Services requested: Quarterly cleaning and maintenance of the 84-point Combat Arms Firing Range, including debris removal from both bullet traps, HEPA vacuuming of all 84 firing positions, pressure washing, D-Lead wipe-down, and cleaning around the air-handling unit. - Government-owned equipment to service: 2 Savage Range Systems 800D w/Auger bullet traps; 2 Southern Air & Filtration Inc. dust collection units; and 1 SpeedAire 35WC63 air compressor. These are service assets, not equipment purchases. - Potential replacement item: If required, DCU cartridge filters measuring 14.125 in. OD × 9.8 in. ID × 39 in. L, with Nanofiber Pro Tura media, or an approved equivalent. - Notable requirements: Handle and dispose of hazardous waste in coordination with the Maxwell Environmental Office; personnel must have HAZWOPER certification; joint quality assurance inspections follow each service visit. Work must keep the range free of hazardous materials and meet Civil Engineering and Bio-Environmental standards.
Description
The 42d Contracting Squadron, Maxwell AFB, AL, is seeking qualified sources that can provide firing range cleaning maintenance. The 84-point firing range must be cleaned and maintained to be free of hazardous materials, compliant with Civil Engineering and Bio-Environmental standards. Key government-owned equipment to be serviced includes: Two (2) bullet traps, Savage Range Systems (Model: 800D w/Auger), two (2) Southern Air & Filtration Dust Collection Units (DCU), one (1) SpeedAire Air Compressor (Model: 35WC63). Therefore, the Government is requesting responses from interested contractors capable of satisfying all requirements described in the attached draft Statement of Work (SOW). All feedback and information received may be used to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy.
