Site and design-build services for a Pendleton fire substation

The Town of Pendleton is seeking a site and design-build team for a new fire substation serving the Pendleton Volunteer Fire Department’s Station 2 area. - Government buyer: Town of Pendleton, South Carolina; Town Administrator Steve Miller. The facility will be transferred to the Pendleton Volunteer Fire Department Board of Directors. - Procurement: One site and one suitable fire substation facility, with design-build and project delivery services. - Facility requirements: Approximately 5,000–8,000 square feet, nonstaffed, and able to house at least three fire/medical apparatus. Include offices, training and meeting space, a communications/on-duty room, equipment and gear storage, hose and equipment cleaning/drying support, and breathing-air compressor operations. - Provide at least three 12-by-14-foot bay doors; bays must fit an approximately 45-foot ladder truck with at least 8 feet of clearance behind it. - Use energy-efficient utilities and high-efficiency lighting. - Site requirement: Located in Anderson County’s Pendleton Station 2 district, west of and at least one mile from the existing station. - Services requested: Site-selection assistance, emergency-response timing and economic-feasibility evaluation, cost estimating, value engineering, schedule development, design, surveys, permitting, construction documents, subcontractor prequalification and bidding, construction supervision and safety, compliance, progress reporting, testing and inspection, punch-list completion, and closeout. The Town of Pendleton is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide design-build services for a fire substation in the Pendleton Volunteer Fire Department service area. The project includes providing a site and a new, approximately 5,000- to 8,000-square-foot facility, or a suitable existing building, for purchase by the Town and transfer to the Fire Department Board of Directors.
