The Department of the Air Force is seeking 4,500 gallons of Arctic Blend aircraft lavatory fluid for winter operations in Alaska. - Government buyer - Department of the Air Force, Air Mobility Command (AMC), 732d Air Mobility Squadron at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. - The notice is being handled by the 673d Contracting Squadron (673 CONS). - Requirement - 4,500 gallons of ready-to-use Arctic Blend lavatory fluid, delivered in one shipment. - The fluid must be non-corrosive, potassium-free, and provide anti-freeze/anti-icing properties and deodorizer; it must meet SAE AMS 1476 materials-compatibility and corrosion requirements. - It must tolerate extreme cold, including conditions as low as -50°F, and be suitable for storage in a 10,000-gallon external tank. A dilution schedule is required for summer temperatures up to 90°F. - Delivery and transfer - Supplier must transfer the fluid into the tank and provide three quick-disconnect fittings and a hose with a pressure valve. - OEMs and vendors - No OEM or vendor is named in the opportunity materials. - Notice status - The initial notice describes market research; the attachment provides the 4,500-gallon requirement. The 673d Contracting Squadron (673 CONS), Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), Alaska, is conducting market research to identify potential sources that can provide arctic blend lavatory fluid.

This Sources Sought is pursuant to RFO Part 10 in support of Market Research being conducted by the United States Air Force to determine if this effort can be competitive and to determine the appropriate set-aside (if any). This is not a Request for Quote (or solicitation) or an indication that a contractual commitment will exist for this requirement. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market research.

1. Product Information

Aritic Blend Lavatory Fluid is an approved product governed by AFI 24-605 Vol 2. This product is anaircraft lavatory fluid, non-corrosive, potassium free anti-freeze/anti-icing lavatory fluid withdeodorizer in ready to use liquid form, used as a winterized lavatory flushing fluid. DISCLAIMER - Product contains an aircraft toilet additive certified to SAE AMS 1476.  Additionally, Arctic has been tested to and conforms to all materials compatibility and corrosion requirements of SAE AMS 1476.
