Description

Phase 1 of the GAC Treatment Optimization Project includes retrofitting one L/2 Building carbon contactor, consisting of two cells, to serve as the PFAS pilot study system. Work also includes restoring upflow and downflow operating capability through modifications to the existing underdrain nozzle system and evaluating carbon transfer improvements. If authorized by the Owner, Phase 2 will retrofit the remaining seven carbon contactors (fourteen cells) with selected improvements based on Phase 1 results.
