Description
NHTSA is seeking reinstatement of a previously approved information collection concerning consolidated labeling requirements under 49 CFR part 541 and procedures for selecting vehicle lines covered by the Theft Prevention Standard under 49 CFR part 542. Covered manufacturers must mark major component and replacement parts on designated high-theft vehicle lines and submit target-area information and evaluations for certain new light-duty truck lines. NHTSA estimates 150,550 annual burden hours and an annual burden cost of $24,003,000. Comments are due October 30, 2026.
