Description

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, National Forests and Grasslands in Texas intends to dispose of human remains removed from Federal or Tribal lands under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act. The remains represent at least one individual of Native American ancestry, and no associated funerary objects are present. They were confiscated during a traffic stop on the Angelina National Forest in Angelina County, Texas, in 2011. The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas and the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma have priority for disposition; claims may be submitted by September 30, 2027.
