Description
The Autry Museum of the American West intends to repatriate cultural items under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The notice concerns 18 unassociated funerary objects and 13 sacred objects and/or objects of cultural patrimony, with cultural connections to the Central Council of the Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes, Ketchikan Indian Community, and Sitka Tribe of Alaska. Repatriation may occur on or after October 30, 2026. Additional written requests for repatriation may be submitted to the Autry Museum representative identified in the notice.
