CMSD Snow and Ice Removal Services for Approximately 60 Facilities

The Cleveland Metropolitan School District is seeking contractors to manage snow and ice removal across its school and support facilities. - Government buyer: Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD), Purchasing Department, Cleveland, Ohio. - OEMs and vendors: No OEMs, brands, or prospective vendors are named; contractors provide the equipment and services. - Requested services: Plow roadways, driveways, and parking areas; apply salt or approved noncorrosive ice melt; and perform District-directed snow hauling or other additional removal work. Sidewalk and walkway clearing is excluded. - Coverage and pricing: Approximately 60 facilities across four regions. The pricing schedule lists 15, 15, 15, and 16 facilities by region (61 facility slots). Proposals may cover one or more regions. Pricing is requested per plowing event and salt/ice-melt application by facility, plus hourly equipment-and-operator rates for directed additional work. - Capacity and operating requirements: Minimum fleet includes 8 plow trucks, 3 wheel loaders, 5 skid steers, salt spreaders, snow-hauling equipment, and dump trucks; contractors must also provide at least 5 trained operators and a dedicated CMSD operations manager. Proposers must show multisite experience, equipment inventory, backup capacity, maintenance and replacement plans, and snow-hauling capability. - Service standards: Clear designated areas by 6:00 a.m.; service measurable snowfall of at least 1 inch; monitor weather; respond immediately to daytime emergencies; and do not plow while school is in session unless directed. Service is required on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. - Term: Three-year base term with two optional one-year renewals, for up to five years total. This is seasonal snow-removal service, not an annual subscription.

Description

Cleveland Metropolitan School District seeks one or more qualified snow and ice management contractors to provide removal services at approximately 60 District facilities. Services include plowing roadways, driveways, and parking areas, and applying salt or approved ice melt; sidewalk and walkway clearing is excluded. Proposals may cover one or more of four geographic regions, and the District may make multiple awards. The contract period is November 1, 2026, through November 1, 2029, with two one-year renewal options.
