Charlottesville Area Transit is seeking on-call design and consulting services for transit facilities and related infrastructure. - Government buyer: City of Charlottesville, through Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT), Charlottesville Area Transit Department. The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) is relevant to federally funded assignments. - OEMs and vendors: No product OEMs, manufacturers, or bidding vendors are named in the notice or attachments. The requested work is professional services, not a specified product purchase. - Services requested: Architectural, engineering, planning, facility assessment, design, and construction-phase services for transit, administrative, maintenance, passenger, and parking facilities and related infrastructure. - Disciplines include civil/site, structural, traffic, utility, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, landscape, interior, lighting, graphic, communications, security, and wayfinding/signage design; surveying; BIM coordination; and LEED and sustainability consulting. - Assignments may include facility-condition and accessibility assessments, field and as-built surveys, planning and conceptual design, permitting and approval documents, preliminary and detailed design, cost estimates, quality reviews, construction documents, bidding assistance, construction administration, and project close-out. - Notable requirements: Provide and coordinate current BIM-format files; professional services must meet applicable Virginia licensing and insurance requirements; assigned sustainability staff must have LEED AP BD+C certification. For applicable federally funded work, designs and specifications must address current FTA Buy America and Build America, Buy America requirements and specify compliant materials and components as applicable. - Contract structure: The City may award one or more term contracts, including discipline-specific awards. The initial term is one year, with up to three additional one-year renewals by written agreement. - Line items: No products, quantities, or product part numbers are specified; services are assigned on a per-project basis.

Description

The City of Charlottesville is seeking proposals to establish one or more term contracts for professional design services for Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT). Services include architecture and engineering, planning, interior design, landscape architecture, and construction administration for transit and related facilities and infrastructure, including renovation, expansion, new construction, rehabilitation, or replacement. Offerors may propose as prime architectural firms or as firms specializing in individual disciplines; the work may include design, consulting, assessments, planning, cost estimates, construction documents, bidding assistance, and construction administration. The initial contract term is one year, with up to three additional one-year renewals by written agreement; the City reserves the right to make multiple awards.
