Workers’ Compensation Defense Counsel Services for Union County

The County of Union is seeking qualified New Jersey attorneys or firms to provide workers’ compensation defense counsel services. - Government buyer: County of Union, New Jersey — Office of the County Counsel. - Services requested: Workers’ compensation litigation representation, including responding to claim petitions, Workers’ Compensation Court appearances, arranging medical examinations, reviewing medical reports, trials, appeals, County meetings, and related specialized legal services. Counsel may also represent members of the Union County Insurance Fund Commission. - Qualifications and compensation: Attorneys must be licensed in New Jersey and have at least 10 years of relevant experience. New assigned files are compensated at $155 per hour. - Expense terms: Reimbursable expenses are limited to specified items such as duplication, priority postage or express delivery, court costs, filing fees, transcripts, and other expenses approved in advance by the County Counsel’s Office. Travel is not reimbursed. - OEMs and named vendors: No OEMs, law firms, or other service vendors are named in the solicitation.

The County of Union seeks proposals from qualified individuals and firms to provide Workers Compensation Defense Counsel Services for January 1 through December 31, 2027. The scope includes representation in workers’ compensation litigation, including filing answers to claim petitions, court appearances, arranging medical examinations, reviewing medical reports, trials, and appeals. Counsel may also attend meetings and provide other specialized legal services; one or more providers may be selected. Proposals are due October 22, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. EDT, and must be submitted as one paper original and one PDF copy on a thumb drive.
