Union County General and Specialized Engineering Services

Union County, New Jersey, is seeking qualified firms and individuals for on-request general and specialized engineering services. - Government buyer: County of Union, through the Office of the County Counsel. Work may support the Office of the County Manager; the Department of Engineering, Public Works and Facilities Management; the Department of Parks and Recreation; and the Office of Open Space, Recreation and Historic Preservation. - Services requested: Planning, studies, design, construction, operations, inspection, and technical support for County facilities and infrastructure, including: - Roadways, bridges, culverts, traffic signals, drainage, flood control, stormwater systems, dams, lakes and ponds, railroads, parking, and parks. - Site, land-use, environmental, wetlands, historic/cultural/archeological, landscape architecture, surveying, and GIS work; UST/AST installation, removal, remediation, and related assessments. - Building systems evaluation and mechanical design; geotechnical and materials testing; environmental testing, monitoring, and investigations; telecommunications and RF engineering. - Golf-course architecture and planning, renovations, putting greens, irrigation and drainage, construction administration, and tournament planning. - Related meetings, reports, permits, applications, bid documents, correspondence, and coordination with County staff and other agencies. - Notable requirements: Firms must hold applicable New Jersey Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licenses. Testing laboratories must be accredited and provide results acceptable to NJDOT. - OEMs and vendors: No commercial OEMs, product vendors, or specific products are named; no part numbers or quantities are specified. - Opportunity structure: The County intends to create a qualified list and may request proposals for later assignments. Selection for the list does not guarantee work. - Qualification period: Calendar year 2027; no option years or annual subscription are specified.

Description

The County of Union is requesting qualifications from individuals and firms to provide general engineering services and other specialized services during January 1 through December 31, 2027. The scope includes engineering services such as site, land-use and environmental planning; infrastructure and facility studies, design and construction; surveying and GIS; and related support, meetings, reviews, and documentation. The County will establish a qualified list, and qualified firms may be asked to submit detailed proposals for specific assignments; this RFQ does not commit the County to issue a later RFP. Proposals are due October 14, 2026, at 11:30 A.M., and must be delivered as one paper original and one PDF copy on a thumb drive.
