The Florida Forest Service is seeking contractors for wildfire mitigation work across the state. - Government buyer: Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), through the Florida Forest Service (FFS); based in Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida. - OEMs and named vendors: No OEMs, vendors, or equipment brands are identified. - Requested services: Five service levels, with no specified project quantities: - Level 1: Forestry mowing, mulching, and mastication; mulch vegetation and stumps under 6 inches DBH to 2–3 inches above ground, distributing residue evenly with no piles or residue higher than 3 feet. - Level 2: Mulching, mastication, and land clearing; remove specified vegetation under 6 inches DBH, dead or damaged trees, and material that cannot be mulched. Debris may be hauled away or disposed of through approved onsite burning using an Air Curtain Incinerator operated by a Certified Pile Burner. - Level 3: Mulching, mastication, and land clearing without DBH restrictions; remove and/or mulch vegetation of any size, cut stumps to 2–3 inches and leave them in place, and dispose of debris by hauling, approved burning, or onsite mulching. - Level 4: Roller (drum) chopping of underbrush and trees up to 4 inches DBH. Required drums must be at least 8 feet wide and 42 inches in diameter, with blades at least 8 inches long, and must be heavy enough or fillable with water to drive the blades into the ground. - Level 5: Fireline establishment with a 10–15-foot-wide cleared buffer down to mineral soil, then harrowed or disked. Remove trees regardless of DBH and leave no berms, soil mounds, or debris piles. - Notable requirements: Contractors must provide suitable equipment and personnel, protect environmental resources and trees outside project scope, manage debris using permitted methods, and complete work by project deadlines. Contractors must begin work within 30 calendar days after an executed purchase order. - Agreement structure and volume: Fixed-rate term agreements are planned for three years, with up to three optional one-year renewals. Up to 10 contractors may be selected for each service level in each of four regions; work will be assigned through project-specific quotes and purchase orders, with no project volume guaranteed.
