TSA’s Chemistry & Explosives Branch documents a sole-source requirement for maintenance of its Agilent GC/MS 7250 QTOF system. - Requirement: One Agilent CrossLab Silver preventive maintenance service agreement for the GC/MS 7250 Quadrupole Time of Flight (QTOF) system at the William J. Hughes FAA Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace. - Service coverage: Unlimited telephone support; hardware and software support; Agilent parts and consumables; repairs by Agilent-certified engineers; travel and labor; and one annual preventive maintenance visit. - Period: One base year with up to four option years, identified as FY 2026 through FY 2030. - Sole-source basis: The signed justification identifies Agilent Technologies as the sole authorized provider because the system requires proprietary components and tools and Agilent-certified engineers. - Mission need: Maintenance supports reliable, calibrated laboratory analysis for the National Explosives Detection Canine Team Program, including work involving Canine Explosives Training Aids. - Notice context: The record is an award-related justification; it does not provide a contract value or a service part number.

Description

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA), through the Chemistry & Explosives Branch (CEB), has a requirement to procure an Agilent CrossLab Silver preventative maintenance service agreement for the Agilent Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS) 7250 Quadrupole Time of Flight (QTOF) System used in the Chemistry Lab. The agreement will cover one (1) 12-month base year of service, with the option to exercise up to four (4) 12-month option years. This maintenance service is essential to ensure the equipment is properly calibrated and operating at optimal standards to ensure the research and analysis is accurate, as this data affects how Canine Explosives Training Aids (CETA) are prepared, configured, and packaged.
