Description
The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities proposes a single-lane roundabout at Sheep Creek Road and West Tanana Drive in Fairbanks, Alaska, to improve safety, drainage, and air quality and reduce turning-traffic wait times. Proposed work includes replacing intersection illumination, updating roadside hardware, improving drainage and nearby parking, and extending a walking path to connect existing and planned recreation trails. Material sites are expected to be contractor-furnished, and construction is planned for summer 2028. DOT&PF is soliciting public information and comments about potentially affected resources, including historic properties, archaeological sites, wetlands, and floodplain encroachment; comments are due November 9, 2026.
