PennDOT is seeking two towable stainless-steel salt conveyors for use at Engineering Districts 10 and 12. - Government buyer: Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Fleet Management Division. - Products: Two new, complete, current-production towable salt conveyors, Specification 003775, referenced to Kimco 2470SS. Each unit must have a 24-inch-wide by 70-foot-long conveyor, radial stacker, loader-fed hopper, diesel engine, and hydraulic drive. - Minimum conveying capacity: 300 tons of commercial road salt per hour; compatible with a PennDOT-owned 3-cubic-yard front-end loader. - Key requirements include 304 stainless steel where specified, a diesel engine rated at least 74 horsepower, fuel tank of at least 40 gallons, hydraulic-oil tank of at least 22 gallons, 3-inch pintle-eye hitch, and transport height no greater than 12 feet 6 inches. - Units must include required guards, wheel chocks, lighting, reflective conspicuity markings, and height and access decals, and be delivered complete and ready to operate. - Named OEMs and component vendors: Kimco (reference conveyor model); Grote and Truck-Lite (lighting, or approved equal); Reflexite and 3M (conspicuity sheeting; 3M Scotchlite Series 980 is specified as an option). - Additional line items: Reflective conspicuity tape; one permanent maximum-travel-height sticker per completed unit (PennDOT drawing EQN-552; 2-inch red lettering on white); delivery of one conveyor to District 10 in Indiana, Pennsylvania, and one to District 12 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania; OEM manuals; factory-trained mechanic and operator instruction; and warranty support. - Performance and warranty requirements: Deliver both units within 90 days after receipt of the purchase order. Complete mechanic and operator training within 60 days after delivery, subject to the stated extension provision. Provide at least a two-year parts warranty from PennDOT acceptance, or the manufacturer’s longer standard commercial term.
