On-call bridge design and engineering support for the Thruway Authority’s Albany and Syracuse Divisions

The New York State Thruway Authority is seeking on-call bridge engineering support for its Albany and Syracuse Divisions. - Government buyer: New York State Thruway Authority, Department of Procurement Services; Engineering Department. - OEMs and vendors: No OEMs, manufacturers, or service vendors are named. The Authority seeks qualified engineering firms. - Requested services: As-needed preliminary engineering, final bridge and transportation-structure design, and construction-phase engineering support. Work may include bridge inspection and evaluation, load ratings, rehabilitation, preservation, repair, retrofit and replacement; surveying and right-of-way mapping; geotechnical, hydraulic, scour, environmental and traffic work; maintenance-of-traffic and construction staging; preparation of plans, specifications and estimates; and construction support such as shop-drawing reviews and responses to requests for information. - Coverage: Albany and Syracuse Divisions, with work potentially covering Albany, Cayuga, Columbia, Greene, Herkimer, Madison, Montgomery, Oneida, Onondaga, Ontario, Rensselaer, Schenectady, Seneca and Ulster counties or areas. Assignments may occur concurrently. - Notable requirements: Engineering must follow applicable NYSDOT, Thruway Authority and AASHTO requirements. The solicitation sets participation goals of 30% for MWBEs and 6% for service-disabled-veteran-owned businesses. Applicable projects may require collection and reporting of available product-specific Environmental Product Declarations for specified construction materials. - Agreement value and term: Anticipated value up to $3 million; three-year term with two optional one-year extensions, subject to available funding.

Description

The New York State Thruway Authority is seeking a qualified engineering firm to provide bridge design services in its Albany and Syracuse Divisions. Work will be assigned as needed and may be concurrent, covering preliminary engineering, final design, and construction support for rehabilitation, preservation, repair, retrofit, or replacement of bridges and other transportation structures. Services may include structural evaluations, traffic and construction staging designs, contract documents, permitting support, shop-drawing review, and responses to requests for information. The agreement is for three years, with two optional one-year extensions subject to available funding, and an anticipated value of up to $3 million.
