Description

The City of Abbotsford intends to directly award emergency construction services to JAKES Construction Ltd. for stabilization and rehabilitation of Old Yale Road, from Belrose Road to the City of Abbotsford and City of Chilliwack border. The work is needed to address localized settlement and pavement cracking associated with potential slope stability issues and/or stormwater runoff. The City says immediate work is required due to deteriorating pavement and risks associated with the impending rainy season, including roadway failure, public safety impacts, and disruption to emergency services, residents, and businesses. McElhanney Ltd. investigated the site and provided civil layout drawings and specifications for the construction work.
