NASA JPL Duplicating, Printing, Scanning, and Document Services

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory is seeking qualified providers for on-site printing, reproduction, scanning, and related document services. - Government buyer: National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Subcontracts Manager Alexa Taylor. JPL is a NASA-affiliated federally funded research and development center operated by the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). - OEMs and vendors: No printing-equipment OEMs or service vendors are named. Caltech is identified as JPL’s operator, not as a proposed service vendor. - Services requested: Black-and-white and color copying; wide-format printing; bindery; electronic job submission and digital duplicating; document scanning and conversion; document distribution; campus courier service; and systems administration. - Estimated annual service volumes: 75,000 black-and-white impressions, 185,000 color impressions, 1,350 square feet of black-and-white wide-format printing, 14,500 square feet of color wide-format printing, and 35,000 scanned images. - Notable requirements: Provide an on-site operations manager and two production specialists; support printing up to 12 × 18 inches and wide-format printing up to 60 inches; offer OCR, indexing, PDF bookmarking, and integration with Microsoft OneNote or SharePoint; and provide electric-cart pickup and delivery on the JPL campus. The provider must maintain quality control, comply with JPL IT security requirements, and provide reporting. JPL supplies facilities, equipment, utilities, and computer systems. - Performance term: The potential subcontract is described as five base years with two additional one-year options. No specific products, part numbers, or equipment quantities are listed.

Description

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is seeking information from qualified vendors regarding their capability to provide comprehensive duplicating/reproduction services, bindery services, wide format printing and scanning, document distribution, and document scanning services. Comprehensive printing services are clarified in detail in the SoW (Attachment A).

This RFI is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or commitment to procure any services. Neither JPL nor the U.S. Government will be responsible for any costs incurred by you in furnishing any information.  Responses received will be carefully reviewed by JPL and may be considered as part of a future solicitation. Prospective subcontractors are advised that any information provided shall be deemed to be furnished with unlimited rights to JPL, with JPL assuming no liability for the disclosure, use, or reproduction of such data. Please note that responses to the RFI will not be returned.

This RFI is to also gather information of potential qualified sources and to obtain your business size relative to the following NAICS code: 323120 - Support Activities for Printing with a size standard of 550 Employees. Responses to this RFI may be used by JPL to make appropriate decisions regarding a Small Business Set-Aside procurement.

All responses shall be submitted by 3:00 PM Pacific Time on October 26, 2026 electronically to the undersigned.

Written RFI Questions are due by September 30, 2026 via submission to the undersigned by email. No written questions will be accepted after September 30, 2026. JPL will make its best efforts to respond to written questions by October 9, 2026. Submit your response to this RFI by October 26, 2026.
