Outfitting Two Mercedes Sprinter Vans for Mobile Air Monitoring – TCEQ Solicitation

• The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Air Monitoring Division seeks a qualified vendor to outfit two Mercedes 2500 All-Wheel Drive Sprinter vans as mobile ambient air monitoring platforms.
• Vendor must be an approved Mercedes outfitter to ensure all modifications preserve the vehicle warranty.
• Outfitting includes:
  • Exterior modifications: weatherproof fasteners, amber/white flashing lights (4 units plus 2 light bars), custom exhaust vents (3 units), side-mounted ladder (White Top Adventures Sprinter High Roof Strata Side Ladder or equivalent), Magellan MX500 telescoping mast mounting brackets, sample inlets and pass-throughs, trailer hitch receiver (min. 3,000 lbs), running boards, improved shocks and leaf springs (Van Compass or equivalent).
  • Interior modifications: insulation (R-value 7+ wool), sound dampening, recessed LED lighting (10 units, 2000+ lumens), generator enclosure, cabinetry and aluminum countertops, shelving, gas cylinder brackets, two 18U server racks (StarTech 4-Post 18U Mobile Open Frame Server Rack or equivalent), and vibration isolators.
  • Electrical and HVAC: 60-amp load panel, 20 outlets, shore power, 100-amp transfer switch, 65-amp inverter, auxiliary battery backup, battery disconnect, two roof-mounted 15,000 BTU air conditioners with heat strips, Tier 4 diesel generator (Cummins Onan QD 12500 or equivalent).
• All modifications must be identical for both vans and completed at a facility within 100 miles of Austin, Texas.
• Vendor must provide a two-year warranty on generator, electrical, and water intrusion issues, detailed electrical schematics, and a one-time training session for at least four TCEQ staff.
• Delivery is to Austin, Texas, with all work completed by the specified end date.
• Notable requirements: strict adherence to Mercedes warranty, technical training, and submission of detailed construction plans for TCEQ review.
