DLA Land at Aberdeen is conducting a market survey for EPP III components used with the PATRIOT Missile Defense System. - Government buyer: Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land at Aberdeen, acting for the Army Integrated Logistics Supply Center (ILSC), Supply Chain Management Directorate (SCMD), Strategic Sourcing Directorate (SSD). - Highlighted OEM: VINCORION POWER SYSTEMS GMBH (CAGE D0857), identified as the current OEM for the requested items. - Requested products: Cable reels, cable assemblies, conduit assemblies, and a hybrid relay; all listed part numbers are detailed below. Quantities are not specified. - Notable requirements: The government does not possess or release the technical data package for these items. Description

The Defense Logistics Agency-Aberdeen, on behalf of the Army Integrated Logistics Supply Center (ILSC) – Supply Chain Management Directorate (SCMD) – Strategic Sourcing Directorate (SSD), intends to acquire Parts to support the REEL, CABLE.

Requirements Description:

The EPP III is the main electric power source for the PATRIOT Missile Defense System. The current source for the Cables, Conduits, and Cable Reel is VINCORION POWER SYSTEMS GMBH CAGE: D0857. We are looking for brand name or equal Cables, Conduits, and Cable Reel. Detailed technical data for the manufacture or acceptance of this item is not available from the Army. The cable reel is a round, drum shaped object such as a spool used to carry various types of electrical wiring. The cable reel is used to accommodate the cables needed for the Electric Power Plant (EPP III) on the PATRIOT Missile Defense System.

The Government does not possess the technical data package (TDP) for the parts. The TDP is not available for release.

We request that sources who can supply the listed parts or services to submit information to show their capability to supply the equivalent or better . The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this SSA or reimburse any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this SSA. This Sources sought announcement (SSA) is for planning and market research purposes only and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government. The information gathered from this announcement will be used to determine if responsible sources exist, and to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or set aside for Small Business.  Furthermore, the Government will use the information, in part, to determine the best acquisition strategy for a potential procurement action and/or to assist in making acquisition strategy decisions in the future.
