NASA Glenn Research Center needs one custom Knudsen Cell Spool Assembly for its Knudsen Effusion Mass Spectrometry instrumentation. - Procurement - NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) intends a sole-source procurement from The Kalt Manufacturing Company; the notice identifies Kalt as the sole provider. - This is a commercial-item requirement under NAICS 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. - Interested vendors may submit a capability statement referencing the notice ID; price quotes are not being accepted at this stage. - Requirement - Quantity: 1 complete custom assembly, fabricated to NASA drawing package 200201MRA001 through 200201MRA040. - Includes actuator couplers, weldments, flanges, translation assemblies, rails, rollers, heater stand assemblies, and associated plates. - Requires high-precision machining, high-temperature-compatible materials, fabrication in-house, full inspection and traceability, inspection reports, and material certifications. - Delivery - Deliver to NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio, 24 weeks after receipt of order.

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for Knudsen Cell Spool Assembly. 

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to THE KALT MANUFACTURING COMPANY, North Ridgeville, Ohio 44039-3834 under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that THE KALT MANUFACTURING COMPANY is the sole provider of Knudsen Cell Spool Assembly

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Glenn Research Center (GRC).

The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334516.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 8:00 a.m. Central Standard Time on 10/2/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.

NOTE: Quotes received in response to this notice will NOT be considered and will not be evaluated by NASA’s Technical End User Team. We are currently only requesting Capability Statements.
