Description

This solicitation provides direct funding from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative Operating Plan for the purchase and installation of cold-climate air source heat pumps (ASHPs) and ground source heat pumps (GSHPs) in eligible new construction residential projects across New York State. The program targets projects less than 50,000 square feet, including single-family and small homes (1-4 dwelling units) and low- and mid-scale multifamily buildings (5+ units, under 50,000 gross feet). Projects must fully electrify space conditioning with no fossil fuel backup, and incentives are paid per dwelling unit on a declining block schedule with additional bonuses for projects in disadvantaged communities. Eligible applicants include developers, home builders, or heat pump installers as elected by the applicant.
