The Village of Hempstead is seeking qualified contractors for water main installation and related infrastructure work at Evergreen Charter School. - Government Buyer: - Village of Hempstead, Evergreen Charter School - Scope of Work: - Installation of cement lined ductile iron (C.L.D.I.) water mains in 6", 8", and 12" diameters - Ductile iron mechanical joint (MJ) fittings (approx. 3,000 lbs) - Resilient seat gate valves (6" and 12" sizes) - Hydrant modification and reconnection - Chlorination, flushing, and sampling of water mains (approx. 700 units) - Concrete sidewalk restoration (approx. 5 units) - Water main cut-in and wet cut connections - Trench compaction (approx. 720 units) - Full-depth pavement replacement (Town & Village: 480 units; Nassau County: 8 units) - Topsoil and seeding restoration (approx. 4 units) - Mobilization/demobilization and all required bonds and insurances - Products Requested: - 5 linear feet of 6" C.L.D.I. water main - 24 linear feet of 8" C.L.D.I. water main - 660 linear feet of 12" C.L.D.I. water main - 3,000 lbs of ductile iron compact MJ fittings - 1 each of 6" and 12" gate valves - 1 hydrant modification - 700 units of chlorination - 5 units of concrete sidewalk - 1 each of 6" water main cut-in and 12" x 12" wet cut connection - 720 units of trench compaction - 480 units of Town & Village pavement replacement; 8 units of Nassau County pavement - 4 units of topsoil and seeding - Unique Requirements: - Compliance with minimum wage rates and non-discrimination policies - Submission of sealed list of subcontractors for plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work - All work must be completed within 120 consecutive calendar days from notice to proceed - Liquidated damages of $500 per day for delays - Required performance and maintenance bonds and insurances - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; solicitation is open to qualified contractors with relevant experience and financial capability.
