The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is considering an application for an amendment of License No. SUA-1471 for the former conventional uranium mill near Grants, New Mexico, known as the Grants Reclamation Project. The amendment would authorize Homestake Mining Company of California to replace its Groundwater Corrective Action Program and its currently approved groundwater protection standards with Alternate Concentration Limits.
