The City of Ontario Engineering Department is seeking bids for its Annual Sidewalk and Concrete Maintenance Project. - Government Buyer: - City of Ontario, Engineering Department (City Hall, 303 East B Street) - Scope of Work: - Removal and replacement of Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) sidewalks (5,000 SF annually) - Construction of new PCC sidewalks (1,000 SF annually) - Grinding uneven PCC sidewalks (1,000 SF annually) - Removal and replacement of residential and commercial PCC driveway approaches (25 each annually) - Removal and replacement of multiple types of PCC and rock curb and gutter (100 LF each type annually) - Installation and replacement of accessible curb ramps with detectable warning surfaces (25 annually) - Adjustment of utility appurtenances to grade (50 annually) - Reestablishment of monuments and centerline ties (25 annually) - Unique Requirements: - Strict compliance with labor laws, environmental regulations, and safety measures (including COVID-19 protocols) - Contractors must implement stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs) - Valid Class "A" Contractor's License and SB854 Public Works Contractor Registration required - Submission of both electronic and paper bids, bid bond, and adherence to insurance and bonding requirements - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or product manufacturers are named; materials must meet City standards and ADA requirements - Estimated Quantities: - Detailed annual quantities for each line item provided in specifications - Contract Structure: - Three-year base contract with two optional one-year extensions - Estimated not-to-exceed value of $500,000 - Notable Technical Details: - ADA-compliant curb ramps with Federal Yellow detectable warning surfaces - Adjustment of utility features includes water meters, irrigation controllers, electrical/gas boxes, vent pipes, and cleanouts - Surveying and construction staking by licensed land surveyor

Description

This solicitation is for the Annual Sidewalk and Concrete Maintenance Project in the City of Ontario. The work includes placement of PCC sidewalk, removal and replacement of PCC curb & gutter, residential and commercial driveways, curb ramps, installation of detectable warning surfaces, adjustment of utility appurtenances to grade, and other necessary appurtenances as described in the Plans and Specifications. The contract is a three-year term with two optional years and requires a Class "A" Contractor's License. Bids must be submitted electronically and in paper format by October 15, 2026, and must include a bid bond or equivalent.
