Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), on behalf of Strike Weapons Program Office (PMX-201), is seeking to determine industry capabilities to design, develop, test, and fabricate cost-effective, rapid prototyping alternatives for the Silent Anvil Air-Launched Torpedo (SAA-LT). The SAA-LT is a next-generation Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) standoff delivery system designed to expand the range of manned and unmanned aircraft platforms capable of executing ASW missions. It will be captive-carried and released from both internal and external aircraft weapons stations using standard Department of War carriage systems, operating as a precise and highly maneuverable glide weapon to engage enemy submarines from a distance.
