Description

The Deployed Warfighter Protection (DWFP) Program aims to protect deployed military personnel from arthropod vectors of medically relevant disease pathogens, including tick-borne pathogens, mosquito-borne arboviruses, nuisance biting arthropods, and emerging threats such as the New World Screwworm fly. The program seeks to fund original and innovative research supporting advanced technology development of new insecticides, improved formulations of existing insecticides for vector control, new technology or enhanced personal protection modalities, and improved efficacy and sustainability of pesticide application equipment. Applications must address at least one of the program's focus areas, including bite prevention, vector control, decision support tools, vector surveillance and identification, or vector pathogen diagnostics. The solicitation is managed by the U.S. Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Edgewood Contracting Division, Fort Detrick, with the DWFP Program at the Armed Forces Pest Management Board as the execution management agent.
