NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) is soliciting applied research and commercial solutions to address venous thrombosis (VT) risks during spaceflight and exploration missions. - Government Buyer: - NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC), Office JSC-AH712 - NASA Human Research Program (HRP) - Products and Services Requested: - Development of approaches to surveil, reduce risk of, and/or prevent/treat VT in astronauts - Includes preflight medical screening, individual risk assessment, monitoring, and mechanical countermeasures - Emphasis on mechanical solutions such as venous occlusion thigh cuffs - Excludes tissue chip/organoid development, AI modeling, and emerging pharmaceutical treatments - 1 job unit for the VT approach(es) as per the Performance Work Statement (PWS) - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; opportunity is open to all qualified sources - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Focus on practical, deployable solutions for VT risk in spaceflight - Solutions must support crew health for long-duration missions (ISS, Moon, Mars) - Technical acceptability and past performance are prioritized over price in evaluation - Delivery required within 30 days after order; contract period spans nearly 4 years - Excludes certain research areas (e.g., tissue chip/organoid, AI, emerging pharmaceuticals)

Amendment 001:  The purpose of this amendment  is to correct a spelling error on documents from "Venus Thrombosis" to "Venous Thrombosis".

Base Venous Thrombosis RFQ: 

This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial products and commercial services prepared in accordance with the FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; offers are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.

This notice is being issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ) under solicitation number 80JSC026Q0014 for Venous Thrombosis (VT) . The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 2026-01 The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 541715 and 1000 Employees, respectively. The offeror must state in their offer their size status for this acquisition. All responsible sources may submit an offer which must be considered by the agency. Delivery to NASA/JSC is required within 30 days after receipt of order. Delivery must be free on board (FOB) Destination.

The items under this acquisition are subject to the World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement and Free Trade Agreements.

FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation -- Commercial Products and Commercial Services The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the offer responsible, whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. The following factors are in descending order of importance and must be used to evaluate offers: Technical Acceptability, Past Performance, and Price. Technical and Past Performance, when combined, are significantly more important than price.

FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Products and Commercial Services is applicable
