The City of La Cañada Flintridge Public Works Department is seeking bids for the installation of a Pedestrian Crossing Traffic Signal (HAWK) at Foothill Boulevard and Indiana Avenue. - Government Buyer: - City of La Cañada Flintridge Public Works Department, Director of Public Works (Maged El-Rabaa, P.E.) - Project Scope: - Installation of a new HAWK pedestrian crossing traffic signal system, including all associated electrical and traffic control equipment - Removal and installation of curb and gutter, ADA-compliant curb ramps, sidewalk, and bulb-outs - Asphalt concrete pavement removal and replacement, slurry seal, and crack sealing - Installation of new traffic signal cabinet (Type 332L) with ATC EX2070 controller, modification of existing service cabinet - Installation of Polara INS 2-wire touchless Accessible Pedestrian Signal (APS) push button system - Installation of poles (Type 15TS and Type 19), LED luminaires, LED HAWK cluster vehicle heads, and LED countdown pedestrian heads - Installation of pull boxes, PVC conduits, traffic signal wiring, and video detection system - Installation of internally illuminated and reflective street name signs - Relocation of bus stop sign, adjustment of water and sewer valves, and landscape improvements (topsoil, shrubs, irrigation, mulch, and 90-day maintenance) - Products/Equipment (selected quantities): - 1 Type 332L Cabinet with ATC EX2070 Controller - 2 Polara INS 2-wire APS push button systems - 2 Type 15TS poles, 2 Type 19 poles - 4 LED luminaires (Evolve Cobra Head or approved equal) - 6 3-12" LED HAWK cluster vehicle heads - 2 LED countdown pedestrian heads - 1 video detection system - 1431 sq ft of new sidewalk, 3775 sq ft of full-depth asphalt concrete - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Compliance with prevailing wage laws - California Class A contractor license required - 5% payment retention (option for securities in lieu of retention) - 100% performance and labor/material bonds - All bidders must be registered with Planet Bids - Product submittals due within 10 working days of Notice to Proceed for Procurement - OEMs and Vendors: - Polara (APS push button system) - GE Current (Evolve Cobra Head LED luminaires, or approved equal) - No other specific OEMs named; most equipment specified by type or as 'or approved equal'

Description

This solicitation is for the installation of a pedestrian crossing traffic signal (HAWK) at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Indiana Avenue. The scope of work includes clearing and grubbing, removal and installation of new traffic signal equipment, relocation of the existing electrical pedestal and rewiring the intersection, removal and replacement of ADA curb ramps, sidewalk, and curb and gutter, construction of new bulb-outs, removal and replacement of asphalt concrete pavement, relocation of bus stop sign, and signage and striping modification. The project requires a Class A contractor license and has an estimated value between $481,600 and $561,800. The construction duration is 40 working days after the Notice to Proceed for construction.
