Description

This notice informs the public that inflation adjustments of civil monetary penalty amounts required by the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act of 1990, as amended by the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act Improvements Act of 2015, are not being made for 2026. Due to the government shutdown, the Bureau of Labor Statistics was unable to produce the October 2025 data needed for the adjustment. As a result, all HUD civil money penalties are maintained at their 2025 level. The notice is issued by the Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office of the General Counsel.
