Description

Auburn University at Montgomery has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory identified human remains representing at least one individual and 299 associated funerary objects including pottery sherds, lithics, and a shell. The university has determined a cultural affiliation between these remains and objects and multiple Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. Repatriation of these items may occur on or after October 23, 2026, and written requests for repatriation must be sent to the university's authorized representative.
