Description

In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), California State University, Northridge (CSUN) has completed an inventory of human remains representing at least three individuals. These remains were excavated from Native American earth mounds in Lawrence County, Ohio, during 1934-1935. CSUN has determined a cultural affiliation between the human remains and the Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma and the Shawnee Tribe. Repatriation of the human remains may occur on or after October 23, 2026.
