Description

Auburn University at Montgomery has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes remains of multiple Native American individuals and associated funerary objects excavated from various sites in Alabama. The university has determined cultural affiliations between these remains and several Indian Tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations. Repatriation of these remains and objects may occur on or after October 23, 2026, upon written request to the university.
