Description

Auburn University at Montgomery has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory identified human remains of at least two individuals and 268 associated funerary objects, which have a cultural affiliation with several Indian Tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations. The notice details the process and timeline for repatriation, which may occur on or after October 23, 2026. Written requests for repatriation must be sent to the authorized representative at Auburn University at Montgomery.
