Description

This project involves replacing the existing roof-mounted 25-ton air handling unit at Fire Station 8 with a new 30-ton unit capable of maintaining 68 degrees at 50–60% humidity continuously. The scope includes removal of the old unit, installation of the new unit, minor structural reinforcement, and modifications to existing ductwork. Additionally, the project includes removing and replacing the acoustical tile ceiling in the Day Room and part of the adjacent corridor, as well as sprinkler adjustments to accommodate the new ceiling height. The existing structure is a steel-framed three-story building built to meet the 2015 Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, and the roof is a single-ply, fully adhered EPDM roof.
