The Government of Ontario, Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming, is seeking a qualified vendor for roof replacement at Fort William Historical Park. - Scope of work includes: - Removal and off-site disposal of existing roofing materials - Supply and installation of premium-grade, clear heartwood, 100% edge-grain, 24-inch No. 1 resawn blue or red cedar shakes - Factory-applied Class C fire-retardant treatment required - Installation of a ventilated roof underlayment system - Cedar Breather® Roof Ventilation Mat by Benjamin Obdyke or approved equivalent - Supply of all fasteners, including stainless steel ring-shank nails - Installation of roofing felt and 15 lb. cool grey underlayment - All work must: - Maintain the historic character and appearance of the buildings - Comply with municipal, provincial, and building code requirements - Notable OEM: - Benjamin Obdyke (Cedar Breather® Roof Ventilation Mat) - Contract duration estimated at two months

Description

Fort William Historical Park (FWHP) is seeking a qualified vendor to remove existing roofing materials and provide all labour, materials, equipment and supervision necessary to complete the replacement of cedar shake roofing on two historic buildings. The scope includes removal and off-site disposal of existing roofing materials, supply and installation of premium-grade cedar shakes with fire-retardant treatment, and installation of a ventilated roof underlayment system. The completed roof must maintain the historic character and appearance of the buildings, matching the existing roofing configuration unless otherwise approved. The contract duration is estimated at 2 months with an estimated start date of November 2, 2026.
