San Mateo County Probation Department is seeking a provider for a Juvenile Creative Arts Program at the Youth Services Center - Juvenile Hall. - Government Buyer: - County of San Mateo, Probation Department, Youth Services Center - Juvenile Hall - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or commercial vendors are named; this is a service-based opportunity - Products/Services Requested: - Weekly general art classes and creative art workshops for detained youth - Instruction covers foundational art concepts and techniques: drawing, sketching, shading, composition, color, painting, and other forms of artistic expression - Up to 4 hours of instruction per week for 50 weeks annually (maximum 200 hours per year) - Each class session may serve up to 20 youth and last up to 2 hours - Unique or Notable Requirements: - All staff must pass a County-approved background check (including Livescan fingerprinting) - Completion of onboarding and security training is required - Compliance with all facility safety protocols and rules - Contractor must coordinate with Probation and facility staff, deliver a structured and engaging curriculum suitable for varying skill levels, and provide documentation of services - Experience with mural art projects in juvenile detention or similar settings is preferred - Program must use trauma-informed and motivational instructional approaches
