The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Northern Region, is seeking public comment on a proposed construction project for the Parks Highway between mileposts 356.3 and 354.7. - Scope of Work: - Construction of an auxiliary lane along the north side of the Parks Highway - Installation of new highway lighting, signage, and pavement markings - Vegetation clearing within the DOT&PF right-of-way - Utility relocation as required for the project - Drainage improvements, including cleaning and reconditioning ditches, replacing existing culverts, and installing new culverts (excluding the Happy Creek culvert) - All earthen material for construction to be supplied by the contractor - Project will be conducted entirely within the existing DOT&PF right-of-way - Compliance with federal environmental and nondiscrimination policies is required - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the notice - Public comment period is open prior to formal solicitation

Description

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) proposes to construct an auxiliary lane along the north side of the Parks Highway from approximately milepost 356.3 to 354.7 within existing DOT&PF right-of-way. The project includes installing new highway lighting, signage, pavement markings, vegetation clearing, utility relocation, and drainage improvements such as cleaning ditches and replacing or installing culverts. The Happy Creek culvert will not be replaced, and earthen material for construction will be furnished by the contractor. Public comments are requested by October 5, 2026.
