The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Human Systems Division is seeking industry input for the modernization of next generation one-person life rafts to improve aircrew survivability. - Government Buyer: - Department of Defense - Department of the Air Force - Air Force Materiel Command - Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Human Systems Division (ROU) - Products/Services Requested: - Next Generation One-Person Life Raft - Approximately 2,000 units requested - Must support 14-day survival for one person - Packed size must be 35-50% smaller than legacy LRU-16/P - Features required: automatic inflation, rainwater collection, internal lighting, IR signature management, quick deflation, and other survival enhancements - Ruggedized Training Life Raft - Approximately 30 units requested - Designed for frequent use (250+ inflation/deflation cycles) - Reinforced seams and heavy-duty material - Replicates interior dimensions and features of fielded rafts - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Survival features for extended duration (14 days) - Significant reduction in packed size compared to legacy models - Advanced features for survivability and training durability - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the solicitation - Interested parties should review the System Requirements Document for technical specifications

Next Generation One-Person Life Raft Modernization Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS) This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS) only. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Human Systems Division (AFLCMC/ROU) is conducting a market assessment to identify potential sources and companies that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience with one-person life rafts to meet AF requirements. AFLCMC is issuing this SSS to explore cost-effective options to provide this capability and to obtain valuable feedback regarding the attached System Requirements Document (SRD). This is not a request for a quote, request for proposals (RFP), or an invitation to bid, nor is this to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will not reimburse or pay for any information submitted in response to this SSS or any follow-up information requests. Please be advised that all submissions become Government property and will not be returned. All costs associated with responding to this SSS will be solely at the responding party’s expense. Not responding to this SSS does not preclude participation in any future Request for Proposal (RFP). Small Businesses are encouraged to provide responses to this SSS to assist AFLCMC in determining potential levels of competition available in the industry, as well as helping to establish a basis for developing any subsequent small business subcontract plan goal percentages. An acquisition strategy is still being determined. Market research results will assist the Air Force in determining the acquisition strategy.
