This was a single source award to the distributor of the manufacturer Stratsys of the Origin 2 3D printer system and associated parts and accessories. Pittsburgh ARS, PA already utilizes other Stratasys printers and has preventive maintenance service contracts to ensure they remain operational. To prevent additional costs associated with training, accessories, software, and preventive maintenance of a different manufacturer's equipment, it was determined to award to Stratasys to maintain continuity between equipment.
