NASA's Artemis Suit Materials Project is seeking vendors to develop and evaluate water-soluble CP-1 polyimide coating formulations for lunar EVA suit textiles. - NASA Shared Services Center is conducting market research for coated yarn prototyping and testing services. - The scope includes: - Development of four 1-liter water-soluble CP-1 polyimide formulations - Evaluation of white pigment options - Demonstration of coating on candidate fibers and fabrics - Production coating of one fiber type (Kevlar, Vectran, or PBO) with delivery of coated samples and fabric swatches - Deliverables: coated fiber samples, fabric swatches, SEM images, mechanical test results, and a final technical report - Service requirements: - Kickoff meeting - Monthly status email updates - Participation in virtual technical meetings - Preparation of a final technical report (approx. 10 pages) - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; capability statements are requested, not quotes - Contract period is approximately 18-20 weeks after Authority to Proceed (ATP) - All detailed requirements are in attached documents - Opportunity is in the sources sought phase, indicating future procurement potential
