Description

The Surface Transportation Board has received a request from University College London, United Kingdom, for permission to use select data from the Board's 2000 to 2025 inclusive, unmasked Carload Waybill Samples for railroad shipments of corn, soybeans, and wheat. All other commodities' revenues and information are masked to construct measures of rail-network utilization and congestion. The waybill sample contains confidential railroad and shipper data, and parties objecting to the request must file objections within 14 calendar days of the notice date. The rules for release of waybill data are codified at 49 CFR 1244.9.
