ALS-U Storage Ring Power Supplies Rack Detailed Design Services Solicitation

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), managed by the University of California under the Department of Energy, is seeking a subcontractor for the detailed design of Storage Ring (SR) Power Supplies Racks for the Advanced Light Source Upgrade (ALS-U) project. - Government Buyer: - Department of Energy - Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) - University of California (Managing and Operating Contractor) - Scope of Work: - Detailed design services for 76 SR power supply racks across 16 layouts (Standard Sector, Hard Bend Sector, ATS/STA) - Deliverables include 3D CAD models, assembly and production drawings, electrical diagrams, cable harness designs, and documentation packages - Integration of LBNL-provided inputs and existing components - Weekly progress updates, design reviews, and post-design support for procurement and fabrication - On-call hourly support up to 200 hours - Optional production, assembly, and testing phase for racks - Products/Services Requested: - SR Standard Sector Racks: 54 units - SR Hard Bend Sector Racks: 18 units - ATS/STA Racks: 4 units - Detailed design services for rack assemblies - On-call support (up to 200 hours) - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Comprehensive technical approach including CAD modeling, thermal layout, copper bus bar routing, harness clearance validation - ALS-U Supplier Quality Evaluation Survey and Rep Cert Form required with proposal - Emphasis on integration, documentation, and support for procurement/fabrication - Optional production concept proposal requested - No specific OEMs or part numbers are mentioned; the procurement is for engineering and design services rather than off-the-shelf products.
