The City of West Des Moines, Iowa is seeking qualified firms to provide Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) services for the reconstruction of Fire & EMS Station 21 at 3421 Ashworth Road. - Government Buyer: - City of West Des Moines, City Clerk’s Office - Project Scope: - Demolition of the existing Fire & EMS Station 21 (excluding telecom tower and generator) - Site improvements including grading, utilities, pavement, and landscaping - Construction of a new facility approximately 16,600 sq ft with a 2,250 sq ft mezzanine - Facility features: office, training, fitness, sleeping rooms, apparatus bays, and support spaces - Services Requested: - Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) services covering preconstruction and construction phases - Responsibilities include cost estimating, scheduling, subcontractor management, safety program administration, quality control, and contract closeout - OEMs and Vendors: - Farnsworth Group, Inc. The City of West Des Moines, Iowa is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) for Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) services for the reconstruction of Fire & EMS Station 21 located at 3421 Ashworth Road. The project includes demolition of the existing station (excluding the telecom tower and generator), site improvements such as grading, utilities, pavement, landscaping, and construction of a new approximately 16,600 square foot facility with a 2,250 square foot mezzanine. The preliminary Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) budget is $12,700,000. The project schedule includes issuing permit/bid documents in March 2027, construction commencement in June 2027, substantial completion in October 2028, and final occupancy by December 2028. A non-mandatory pre-submittal conference is scheduled for September 14, 2026, and SOQs are due by September 30, 2026.
